Nothing Gold Can Stay
by Robert Frost
Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.

So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

AND MY ATTEMPT TO CHANGE IT UP AS PER OUR POETRY PROMPT FOR TODAY.

Nothing Old Can Stay

We die when we are old,
So lucky enough to hold,
Onto our power,
Seems like a brief hour,
Then death comes in the night.

So Eden started it all,
Our start to fall,
Nothing old can stay.
